I contacted a gentleman by the name of Mensah Solomon from Kumasi, Ghana and a lady from the United Kingdom whose name is Jenny Jenkinz. I am awaiting an answer from  Jenny Jenkinz

The National Black Child Development is an organization that focuses only on the success and well-being of Black Children. This network is having powerful vocals on issues that pertain to issues that are related to all aspects of the lives of Black children. The organization focus on the strengths of the family and the needs of the community.


As one of the only national organizations dedicated exclusively to the success and well-being of Black children, the National Black Child Development Institute and our National Affiliate Network have been a powerful and effective voice on issues related to the education, care, and health of Black children and their families.

With a detailed and unyielding emphasis on the fortes and requirements of our communities, and a lens of cultural capability, we serve as a national resource agency providing programs, publications, advocacy and trainings related to early childhood care and education; health and wellness; literacy and family engagement. You are given the opportunity to join, become a member or get involved to ensure this program

  2. That is not an organization I had heard of before, either. However, one of their goals really resonates regarding the QRIS, and the focus on quality and improvement, rather than just on the rating. Interesting.

    Focusing on strengths is always a great way to go. This sounds like a really empowering organization, working to build upon the individual and cultural strengths of black youths. I look forward to learning more about this group and their work through your blog this term.
